Day Twenty Eight

"To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time of war, and a time of peace."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Do you ever feel like you are living for the weekend, summer, or next fun event that you have lined up? Maybe looking ahead to even another season in life that you may be excited for? To finish school? To raise a family? To retire? I've caught myself many of times going through the motions of my typical schedule, forgetting to take a look at the season I am currently in and what God is looking to do in and through it.

What season do you currently find yourself in? Take a moment to look at where you are at and who is in your life... How has God called you to steward it well? So that it may develop and sanctify you? So that you may love and serve others? So that He may be glorified in it? There will be several seasons you'll walk through in life... but what if we learned to appreciate and cherish them while we have them instead of just when we look back at them?

I've learned that although its awesome to get excited about what's ahead, if we aren't intentional we can be hindered from what God is looking to do right here and right now. Let's rely on the Lord to give us the strength, wisdom, and discernment to take advantage of the season that the Lord has placed us in. Let's ask that His will be accomplished and His name be glorified through every season.
