Day Thirty

When you are faced with a dilemma, who do you run to for wisdom and advice? I am all about community and accountability-as scripture calls us to be woven into the church family and to bear one another's burdens. One wise woman of God once told me that we should be intentional to direct our hearts and direct others we lead to run to God first before we run to each other. Think about it, do we lead people to our wisdom before we encourage them to run to God and His scripture for answers? I am not saying that you shouldn't ask for wisdom or get advice from other Godly people, please do! But have we learned to be dependent on God before others?

The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

Do we trust this scripture? When I was meditating on this scripture I pictured a person from another century who was desperate to take cover and find safety, running to a strong tower or fortress as their only hope. I pray that no matter what we face that with the same desperation we would eagerly seek the Lord and run to Him with all of our needs. That we would keep the body of Christ close to us but that ultimately we would seek the Lord, that we would become familiar with his voice through His scripture and be guided as we depend on the Holy Spirit.
