Day Seven

When the going gets rough- having an optimistic mindset can only get you so far. Some things are simply out of our control, but no matter what we face it is important to fix our eyes on who God is and remind our souls what His word says.

Have you been experiencing a bad day, week, month, or maybe even year? What I can't promise you, is that your life is going to look "perfect" by your or anyone else's definition. What I can remind you is that no matter what you go through it will never change who God says He is. Although we might not be able to control what is happening around us, we can control how we respond to what has already been done at the Cross.

Let it be our heart's cry when we face difficult situations to respond by reminding ourselves of the secure promise met in the Gospel and praising Him for all that He has done. Whether it is your salvation alone, there is always something to give praise for. For all that He has given us is not given to us based on us deserving it, but by His sheer grace alone. No matter how dark or painful your situation is, with thankful hearts we can remind our souls to give praise to the only one who deserves it, as David did in the Psalms.

"Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name." Psalm 103:1
