Day Nine

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Am I the only one who -from time to time- gets trapped in my own understanding of what is going on around me? Or forgets that God knows the beginning, the in-between, and the future ahead? That He is all knowing and more powerful than what a mere human is capable of?

The questions we should really ask ourselves are; Do we believe He is good? and Are we okay with not knowing everything? Our answers won't change the fact that He is good and all knowing. It might not change the fact that we may not fully understand everything from our small perspectives, but it will impact how we trust and depend on Him when we don't understand.

Although this scripture in Isaiah is humbling, to me it's also encouraging. We can rest in a good God who knows everything even when we don't. Although I may not fully comprehend what He is doing, He has the best plan in mind. We should give thanks more often as we remind ourselves that He has a better plan than we make for ourselves, that He is in control, and we get to join in fellowship with Him- our good, all knowing and faithful God.
