"Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us.'" Matthew 1:23
I know that this precious scripture is typically read around Christmas time but this is not the only time where scripture speaks of God being with us. Throughout the Old and New Testaments are times where God reminded His people that He is with them. Joshua 1:9 is another scripture that is commonly referred to when someone is looking to encourage another with the fact that God is with them wherever they go.
But do we actually believe this and walk this out in our day to day? Because as comforting and encouraging as the scriptures proclaim this fact, I have fallen short in understanding that He is actually with me in every moment. This is something in which I need to remind myself of. That in the good, the bad, the small things, and the big things- although our actions deserve it, He's never abandoned us.
What would your life look like if you clung to Him not just in the really hard times but all of the times found in-between? I know its easy to turn auto-pilot on and keep going through the motions but let us press pause for a moment and remind ourselves who God is. He is a God that is near, that cares- even about the little things. He is a God that deserves honor and praise for loving us when we were yet sinners and making a way so that we could draw close into relationship with Him. Let's remind ourselves that God is with us and to reach out to Him for guidance in living out a life for His glory alone.
